Format Name: MPC 500
Extensions: .pgm & .wav
To order MPC 500 Sounds, choose the 'MPC 500' option under 'Format' and the 'Shipping' 1GB Compact Flash($50), CD-ROM ($2) or Download Option (instant download) when checking out. MPC 500 Sounds are the same as the MPC2000 and MPC 2000xl sounds and will import into the MPC 500.
MPC 500, MPC 2000, MPC 2000xl sounds ship in .pgm program and .snd files.
Sound kits that feature 128 sounds will contain 4 .pgm files: Drums (64), Effects (32), Instruments/ Synths (32) and then a fourth pgm file containing both the Effects and Instruments (64). Kits including only Drums will have 2 .pgm files with 64 drums each. Addon Collections typically feature 96 samples spread across 3 pgm files.
MPC2000 and MPC 2000xl instrument sounds feature one sample on each pad bank in each pgm file and are mapped across all of the pads.
When using the download option, MPC sounds will not play on the computer. You must first convert the snd files to wav files in the MPC before being able to play back on a computer.
